Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Wear protective gear.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away. Ensure secure footing.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Hold saw firmly with both hands. Do not cut with tip of bar.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources. Use fuel/oil mix (50:1).

WARNING! Chainsaw kickback can cause severe injury. Always use proper grip and cutting techniques.

Assembly & First-Time Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Remove side cover, fit bar onto studs, align chain with sprocket.
  2. Install chain: Place chain over bar, ensure cutting teeth face forward on top.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust with side-mounted tensioner until snug but movable by hand.
  4. Fill fluids: Add fuel mix (50:1 Husqvarna 2-stroke oil) to fuel tank. Fill bar/chain oil.
  5. Start engine: Place on ground, set choke, pull starter cord until engine fires.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged before starting. Keep hands away from chain.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Right Side: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lockout, front handle. Left Side: Combined choke/stop control, rear handle, chain brake lever.

Controls: ON/OFF switch (combined with choke), Chain brake (manual/inertia), Throttle lockout (safety), Decompression valve (optional), Primer bulb (optional), Side-mounted chain tensioner.

Operation: Start with choke on, switch to run position after engine fires. Use throttle for cutting, release to idle. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward.

Operation Instructions

Starting, cutting, and stopping procedures.

  1. Cold Start: Engage chain brake. Set choke to full. Pull starter cord until engine fires. Move choke to half position, pull until starts. Warm engine at idle.
  2. Warm Start: No choke. Pull starter cord.
  3. Cutting: Disengage chain brake. Hold saw firmly. Apply light pressure; let chain do the work.
  4. Stopping: Release throttle, allow to idle. Press stop switch to OFF.

Tip: Avoid pinching bar. Use wedges for large cuts. Never cut above shoulder height.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily/Weekly maintenance ensures optimal performance.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck chain tension, sharpness, bar/chain oil level
DailyClean air filter, check fuel filter, inspect spark plug
WeeklyClean cooling fins, check all nuts/bolts, clean spark arrestor
MonthlyReplace fuel filter, inspect fuel lines, clean carburetor air intake
YearlyReplace spark plug, check cylinder compression, professional service

WARNING! Perform maintenance only when engine is cool and spark plug wire disconnected.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance ensures cutting efficiency and safety.

  1. Sharpening: Use round file (5/32" or 4.0mm). Maintain 30° cutting angle, 10° top plate angle. File all cutters to equal length.
  2. Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Adjust tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar. Tighten bar nuts.
  3. Depth Gauges: File depth gauges with flat file to maintain 0.025" below cutter top plate.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Ensure proper tension to prevent derailment.

Storage Guidelines

Prepare chainsaw for short-term or long-term storage.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Empty fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer. Run engine to distribute.
  2. Long-term: Drain all fuel. Run engine until it stops. Remove chain, clean and oil. Store in dry place.
  3. Battery (if electric start): Remove and charge monthly.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
