WARNING! A chainsaw is a dangerous tool. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate when tired, ill, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble on a clean, stable surface.
CAUTION! The chain is extremely sharp. Always wear protective gloves during assembly.
Familiarize yourself with all controls before starting the engine.

Left Side: Combined choke/stop control, Decompression valve (optional), Side-mounted chain tensioner, Air filter cover release, Fuel and oil tank caps.
Chain Brake: Can be engaged manually by pushing the front hand guard forward. It activates automatically (inertia-activated) during a kickback. To disengage, pull the hand guard back towards the front handle.
Cold Start:
Warm Start: Set control lever to run position (down). Pull starter cord.
Stopping: Release throttle. Press stop switch to "0".
Emergency Stop: Activate chain brake by pushing hand guard forward. Press stop switch.
Always maintain a firm grip with both hands. Keep saw below shoulder height.

| Interval | Task |
|---|---|
| Daily / Before Use | Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Check all controls, nuts, and bolts. Clean air filter. Check for fuel/oil leaks. |
| Weekly / 5 Hours | Clean cooling fins on cylinder. Clean exterior of saw. Check spark plug condition. |
| Monthly / 20 Hours | Clean fuel filter. Check fuel line. Clean spark arrestor screen in muffler (if equipped). |
| Seasonally / 50 Hours | Replace spark plug. Clean carburetor air filter (replace if damaged). Check anti-vibration elements. Have dealer check carburetor adjustment. |
| Annually | Replace air filter. Check clutch and clutch drum for wear. Check all safety functions. |
CAUTION! Always disconnect the spark plug boot before performing any maintenance.
A sharp, properly tensioned chain is essential for safety and performance.
Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.
CAUTION! Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. Store fuel in an approved container away from living areas.
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No spark, flooded, stale fuel, clogged filter | Check spark plug. Wait if flooded. Use fresh fuel mix. Clean air/fuel filter. |
| Engine starts but dies | Clogged fuel filter, carburetor adjustment, dirty air filter | Replace fuel filter. Have dealer adjust carb. Clean air filter. |
| Engine lacks power | Dirty air filter, clogged spark arrestor, dull chain | Clean air filter and spark arrestor. Sharpen chain. |
| Chain does not turn | Chain brake engaged, clutch worn, sprocket worn | Disengage chain brake. Inspect clutch and sprocket for wear. |
| Chain throws oil | Oil hole clogged, wrong oil viscosity | Clean oil hole and bar groove. Use correct chain oil. |
| Excessive vibration | Loose components, unbalanced chain, worn AV mounts | Tighten all nuts/bolts. Sharpen chain evenly. Check anti-vibration mounts. |
