Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety helmet, hearing protection, protective glasses, gloves, chainsaw protective trousers, and boots with steel toe caps.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 meters away. Ensure secure footing. Never operate in poor lighting, bad weather, or when fatigued.
  3. Kickback Awareness: Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar nose). Never cut with this part. Maintain secure grip with thumbs wrapped around handles.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors only when engine is cold. Use clean, approved fuel containers. Wipe off spills.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. The chain brake does not prevent kickback.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble bar and chain, fill fluids.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs. Fit chain with cutting teeth facing forward on top of bar. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill chain oil: Use Husqvarna chain oil or equivalent. Check oil level window.
  3. Mix fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (min 90 octane) mixed with Husqvarna 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio (2%). Shake well.
  4. Check controls: Ensure throttle trigger, throttle lockout, and chain brake function correctly.

CAUTION! Use only recommended oils and fuels. Improper mixture can damage engine.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main components: Front handle with chain brake, rear handle, throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch, choke/stop control, fuel cap, oil cap, decompression valve (if equipped), and primer bulb.

Controls: 1. Chain Brake Handle: Front hand guard; manually activate by pushing forward. 2. Throttle Trigger: Right side of rear handle. 3. Throttle Lockout: Must be pressed to access throttle. 4. Stop Switch: Above rear handle; move down to stop engine. 5. Combined Choke/Stop Control: Pull out for choke (cold start), push in for stop. 6. Decompression Valve: Reduces compression for easier starting (press before pulling starter). 7. Primer Bulb: Press 5-10 times for cold starts to fill carburetor.

Starting & Stopping

Cold Start: 1. Engage chain brake by pushing handle forward. 2. Press decompression valve (if equipped). 3. Set choke control to full choke position (pull out). 4. Press primer bulb 5-10 times. 5. Place saw on ground, hold rear handle with right foot, grip front handle with left hand. 6. Pull starter handle until engine fires (usually 3-5 pulls). 7. Move choke control to half-throttle position (push in one click). 8. Pull starter again until engine starts. 9. Briefly blip throttle to disengage fast idle; chain brake can now be disengaged.

Warm Start: Use half-throttle position, no primer needed.

Stopping: Release throttle, move stop switch to STOP position.

Emergency Stop: Activate chain brake and move stop switch to STOP.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques ensure safety and efficiency.

  1. Basic Stance: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, left foot slightly forward. Hold saw close to body.
  2. Grip: Left hand on front handle with thumb wrapped underneath. Right hand on rear handle.
  3. Starting a Cut: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use bumper spikes to anchor saw.
  4. Felling Trees: Not recommended for inexperienced users. Consult professional training.
  5. Limbing: Cut from top of log, use saw as support. Beware of spring-loaded branches.
  6. Buckling: Support log properly. Cut from top to avoid pinching.
  7. Avoiding Pinch: Plan cut to prevent bar becoming trapped. Use wedges for large logs.

WARNING! Never operate above shoulder height. Never cut with the upper nose of the bar.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalTask
Daily (before use)Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Check all controls and fasteners.
WeeklyClean air filter, check fuel filter, clean cooling fins, inspect spark plug.
MonthlyClean spark arrestor screen (if equipped), check carburetor adjustments.
SeasonallyReplace fuel filter, clean fuel tank, check anti-vibration elements.
AnnuallyProfessional inspection of piston, cylinder, crankshaft bearings.

Note: Maintenance intervals depend on usage intensity. Professional servicing recommended annually.

Chain & Bar Care

  1. Chain Tensioning: Adjust when chain sags from bar rails. Loosen bar nuts, adjust tensioning screw until chain snaps back when pulled from bar. Tighten bar nuts.
  2. Sharpening: Use round file matching chain pitch (usually 5/32" or 3/16"). Maintain 30° filing angle. File all cutters equally. Check depth gauges with gauge tool.
  3. Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar weekly for even wear. File down burrs on bar rails.
  4. Lubrication: Always check oil flow before cutting. Adjust oiler if equipped.

CAUTION! A dull chain increases kickback risk and operator fatigue. Always stop engine before adjusting chain.

Storage

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Empty fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer. Run engine briefly to distribute stabilized fuel through carburetor.
  2. Long-term: Drain all fuel from tank and carburetor. Run engine until it stops. Remove spark plug, add teaspoon of 2-stroke oil through spark plug hole. Pull starter slowly 2-3 times to distribute oil. Replace spark plug.
  3. General: Clean entire saw. Loosen chain tension. Store in dry, locked area out of children's reach.

WARNING! Old fuel can damage carburetor diaphragms and cause starting problems.
