Safety Information

Read and understand all safety instructions before operating. Failure to follow warnings may result in serious injury or death.

  1. General: Clear mowing area of debris, stones, and toys. Never carry passengers.
  2. Operation: Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees. Mow up and down slopes, not across. Always look behind before backing up.
  3. Blades: Disconnect spark plug wire before inspecting or servicing blades. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.
  4. Fuel: Refuel outdoors only, with engine off and cool. Use fresh gasoline and store fuel properly.
  5. Children: Keep children and pets away from the mowing area.

DANGER! Rotating blades can cause severe injury. Always engage parking brake before dismounting.

Controls and Operation

Familiarize yourself with all controls before starting the engine.

Control Panel: Ignition key, PTO/Blade Engage switch, Throttle/Choke control, Headlight switch, Hour meter.

Operation: Sit fully in seat. Engage parking brake. Press brake pedal. Turn key to START. Release parking brake. Use forward/reverse pedals to move. Engage PTO switch to start blades. Adjust speed with foot pedal. To stop, disengage PTO, engage parking brake, and turn key to OFF.

Cutting Deck & Adjustments

Proper deck adjustment ensures an even cut and protects the mower.

  1. Height Adjustment: Use the deck lift lever (manual) or switch (electric) to set desired cutting height.
  2. Leveling the Deck: Park on a flat surface. Measure blade tip height from ground at all four corners. Adjust deck hangers to level.

  4. Belt Inspection: Check V-belts for cracks and wear. Replace if necessary.

Tip: For best results, mow when grass is dry and overlap cutting passes by a few inches.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance is critical for performance and safety.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Run the mower to warm the engine oil for easier draining (if changing).
  2. Add fuel stabilizer to a full tank of gas. Run engine for 5 minutes to circulate stabilized fuel.
  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Clean and charge battery; store in a cool, dry place.
  4. Clean the mower thoroughly, especially the underside of the deck.
