Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Engine won't start Dead battery, fuel issue, kill switch engaged Check battery charge, fuel supply, kill switch position
Hard starting when hot Fuel vapor lock, hot start not functioning Use hot start lever, check fuel line routing
Poor performance Clogged air filter, dirty fuel filter, worn spark plug Clean/replace air filter, replace fuel filter and spark plug
Overheating Low coolant, clogged radiator, lean fuel mixture Check coolant level, clean radiator, check jetting
Excessive vibration Loose engine mounts, unbalanced wheels, worn bearings Tighten engine mounts, balance wheels, replace bearings
Brakes dragging Stuck caliper piston, contaminated fluid, warped rotor Clean caliper, change fluid, check rotor condition
Chain jumping/skipping Worn sprockets, stretched chain, improper tension Replace chain and sprockets, adjust to proper tension
Electrical issues Loose connections, blown fuse, faulty stator Check all connections, replace fuse, test stator output

Common Error Indicators

  • Check Engine Light: Engine management system fault - Check connections and sensors
  • Oil Pressure Light: Low oil pressure - Stop engine immediately and check oil level
  • Temperature Warning: Engine overheating - Stop and allow to cool, check coolant
  • Battery Light: Charging system fault - Check stator and regulator/rectifier
  • Fuel Light: Low fuel level - Refuel as soon as possible
  • ABS Light (if equipped): ABS system fault - System reverts to standard brakes
