Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts from the box. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach the handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install the upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs.
  3. Attach the grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets, ensure it clicks into place.
  4. Install the mulch plug (if using): Insert into rear discharge opening.
  5. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 detergent oil (approx. 20 oz). Check dipstick.
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum). Do not overfill.

WARNING! Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts during assembly. Wear gloves.

Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Clear mowing area of stones, sticks, and debris.
  2. Never operate without the discharge chute, grass bag, or mulch plug properly installed.
  3. Do not mow wet grass or in rainy conditions.
  4. Keep bystanders, especially children and pets, at a safe distance.
  5. Stop engine and wait for all moving parts to stop before unclogging, adjusting, or inspecting.
  6. Use extreme caution when mowing on slopes. Mow across slopes, not up and down.

CAUTION! Gasoline is flammable. Refuel outdoors only, with engine off and cool.

Controls and Operation

Control Panel: Located on the handle. Includes drive control bar, throttle control, and recoil starter.

Starting: 1. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 2. Set throttle to FAST. 3. Pull recoil starter firmly. Stopping: Release drive control bar, move throttle to STOP, wait for blade to stop.

Drive Control: Squeeze bar against handle to engage drive; release to stop. Speed adjusted via throttle. Height Adjustment: Move single lever to desired setting (1-6). Bagging/Mulching: Install appropriate attachment (bag, mulch plug, or side discharge chute).

Cutting System Setup

Select desired cutting mode before starting engine.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in rear discharge opening. Ensure bag is removed.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Ensure chute deflector is down.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove mulch plug and bag. Attach side discharge chute.
  4. Adjust cutting height based on grass type and condition (higher for first cut of season).

Tip: For best mulching results, mow when grass is dry and not too tall.

Maintenance Schedule

  3. Either run engine until fuel tank is empty OR drain fuel tank and carburetor completely.
  4. Clean underside of deck thoroughly. Remove grass bag and wash if needed.
  5. Store in a clean, dry place, covered.

CAUTION! Never store mower with fuel in tank indoors or near open flame.
