Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and performance.

Daily/Before Use: Check engine oil, tire pressure, fuel level, and for debris under deck.

Every 8 Hours/Weekly: Clean deck, check belts for wear, inspect blades.

Every 50 Hours: Change engine oil and filter, grease fittings, check battery.

Every 100 Hours: Replace air filter, spark plug, check transmission fluid.

Seasonally: Sharpen/replace blades, check spindle bearings, inspect tires.

Cutting Deck Operation

The 52-inch deck provides wide cutting swath.

  1. Height adjustment: Use lift lever to set desired cutting height.
  2. Engaging blades: With engine running, pull PTO (Power Take-Off) switch/lever.
  3. Mowing patterns: Overlap passes slightly for even cut. Avoid mowing in same direction repeatedly.
  4. Disengaging blades: Push PTO switch/lever to off before stopping or leaving seat.

Tip: Mow when grass is dry for best results. Clean deck after each use to prevent buildup.

Engine Care

Refer to separate engine manual for detailed specifications.

  1. Oil change: Use recommended SAE grade. Change when hot for complete drain.
  2. Air filter: Clean or replace regularly, especially in dusty conditions.
  3. Fuel: Use fresh, clean unleaded gasoline. Add fuel stabilizer for storage.
  4. Cooling fins: Keep clean to prevent overheating.
  5. Spark plug: Check gap and replace as needed.

WARNING! Engine is hot during/after operation. Allow to cool before servicing.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents damage during off-season.

  1. Clean thoroughly: Remove all grass, dirt, and debris.
  2. Fuel system: Add stabilizer to tank, run engine 5 minutes, or drain fuel completely.
  3. Battery: Disconnect and store in cool, dry place on trickle charger.
  4. Lubricate: Grease all fittings.
  5. Store: In dry, covered location. Consider using a cover.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel in tank without stabilizer. Gasoline degrades over time.
