Engine & Transmission

Specific procedures for engine and powertrain care.

  1. Fuel Mix: Use premium unleaded gasoline mixed with high-quality 2-stroke oil at ratio specified in manual (e.g., 60:1).
  2. Cooling System: Check coolant level regularly. Use recommended ethylene-glycol coolant.
  3. Power Valve: Periodically inspect and clean the exhaust power valve mechanism.
  4. Clutch Adjustment: Adjust free play at lever (2-3 mm). Bleed hydraulic system if spongy.
  5. Transmission Oil: Use recommended gear oil. Check level with bike upright.

WARNING! Engine components become extremely hot. Allow to cool before servicing.

Chassis & Suspension

Maintenance of frame, suspension, and wheels.

  1. Fork/Shock Settings: Adjust compression/rebound clickers for riding conditions. Record baseline settings.
  2. Spoke Tension: Check and tighten spokes regularly to maintain wheel integrity.
  3. Steering Head Bearings: Check for notchiness; adjust or grease as needed.
  4. Swingarm Pivot: Lubricate bearings according to service schedule.
  5. Brake Pads: Inspect thickness; replace if worn beyond limit.

Cleaning & Storage

Proper cleaning prevents corrosion; correct storage preserves condition.

  1. Cleaning: Rinse with low-pressure water. Use mild detergent. Avoid direct spray on bearings, air filter, exhaust.
  2. After Wash: Start engine and run briefly to evaporate moisture. Lubricate chain.
  3. Storage (Long-term): Fill fuel tank with stabilized fuel. Run engine to circulate. Remove battery and store charged. Inflate tires to max pressure. Store in dry place.

CAUTION! Do not use high-pressure water on seals, electrical components, or bearings.
