Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering control levers: Attach to pivot points and secure with provided hardware.
  2. Attach seat: Mount seat on suspension base and secure with bolts.
  3. Install battery: Connect red (+) cable first, then black (-) cable.
  4. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 14 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).
  5. Add engine oil and fuel: Use SAE 10W-30 oil (approx. 2.1 qts) and unleaded gasoline.

Controls & Operation

Deck Adjustment & Care

  4. Level deck front-to-back: Front should be 1/4" lower than rear.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any deck maintenance.

Engine Maintenance

  1. Oil change: Run engine to warm oil, drain via drain plug, refill with SAE 10W-30 (approx. 2.1 qts).
  2. Air filter: Replace paper element; clean foam pre-cleaner if equipped.
  3. Spark plugs: Gap at 0.030", replace every 100 hours or as needed.
  4. Fuel filter: Replace annually or if clogged.
  5. Cooling fins: Keep clean to prevent overheating.

WARNING! Engine is hot after operation. Allow to cool before servicing.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Add fuel stabilizer to tank and run engine for 5 minutes.
  2. Change engine oil and filter.
  3. Remove battery, clean terminals, and store in a cool, dry place on a trickle charger.
  4. Clean entire mower, especially deck underside.
  5. Store in a dry, covered location.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel in carburetor without stabilizer. Gasoline can degrade and damage fuel system.
