Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Engine won't start Dead battery, safety switch engaged, fuel issue Check battery charge, ensure seat switch engaged, verify fuel supply
Poor cutting performance Dull blades, improper deck height, clogged deck Sharpen/replace blades, adjust cutting height, clean deck underside
Loss of power Clogged air filter, old gasoline, dirty spark plug Replace air filter, use fresh fuel, clean/replace spark plug
Uneven cutting Uneven tire pressure, deck not level, worn blades Adjust tire pressure, level mowing deck, replace blades
Excessive vibration Unbalanced blade, loose components, bent spindle Balance or replace blade, tighten all bolts, inspect spindle
Hydrostatic transmission issues Low fluid, air in system, drive belt worn Check fluid level, bleed system if needed, replace drive belt

Common Error Indicators

  • Oil Light: Low oil pressure - Stop engine immediately and check oil level
  • Battery Light: Charging system issue - Check alternator and connections
  • No Movement: Drive system disengaged - Check parking brake and PTO switch
  • Overheating: Engine temperature high - Clean cooling fins, check oil level
  • Hard Steering: Low tire pressure or steering issue - Check PSI and linkage
  • Excessive Smoke: Oil burning or rich fuel mixture - Check oil level and carburetor
