Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Engine won't start Fuel issues, spark plug failure, flooded engine Check fuel mixture, inspect spark plug, follow flooded engine procedure
Engine starts then stalls Fuel filter clogged, carburetor issues, air filter dirty Replace fuel filter, clean carburetor, check air filter
Poor cutting performance Dull chain, improper chain tension, bar damage Sharpen chain, adjust tension, inspect bar for wear
Excessive vibration Unbalanced chain, loose components, worn dampeners Balance chain, tighten all fasteners, check vibration dampeners
Chain won't stay lubricated Clogged oil passages, empty oil tank, faulty oil pump Clean oil passages, refill oil, check oil pump operation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, lean fuel mixture, improper use Clean cooling fins, adjust carburetor, allow proper cooling periods
